Jewellery Design & Stone Setting
I was born in Vilnius, Lithuania to a family of professional artists. Studied design in Lithuania, Denmark and Italy and received BA degree in Industrial design in 2003, and MBA degree in UNESCO Cultural Management and Cultural Policy from Vilnius Academy of Arts in 2009.
After studies in Florence University I did my apprenticeship with Florentine master Goldsmith Leonardo Chilleri for three years. In his Laboratory, I had an opportunity to work as a stone-setter on exclusive one of the kind pieces chiefly in white gold and diamonds for best Italian jewellery brands.
Creating bespoke jewellery piece I use contemporary design and classical jewellery making techniques, set stones with engravers in Florentine manner. In my work I like colour - oxidised silver, gold and colourful stones. One of my favourites - sapphires.
I am based in Vilnius, Lithuania, where I run Darijus' Gallery and studio also teach jewellery making. Call or write for an appointment and I would be happy to show you my work and/or create unique piece of jewellery.
I will participate in Contemporary Craft Show in Philadelphia, USA 6th-10th November 2013.
I would like to cordially invite you to visit booth 319 at Contemporary Craft Show and enjoy my new Byzantine collection.
